ENTERING MY RØDE REEL IS SUPER EASY
- Click here to download your starter pack, access freebies from MZed and Musicbed, and check out past winning entries to get you inspired.
- Make a short film up to 3 minutes in length. It can be on any topic you like. Use the prize categories to inspire the direction of your film.
- Make a behind-the-scenes film, up to 3 minutes in length, that shows us how you made your short film and features the RØDE product(s) that you used in your production.
- Sign up for a My RØDE Reel account, and complete the registration process. The registration page will open soon!
- Submit your film to My RØDE Reel. Once approved, it will appear on the 'Watch' page.
- Share your film and encourage your friends, family and fans to vote – there's a People's Choice Prize to be won for the film with the most public votes!
Behind-The-Scenes Film?
For your behind-the-scenes film, all you need to do is give us an insight into how your short film was made. It can be anything from a montage of shots from production to a full-blown "making of" documentary – just remember to include a shot of the RØDE product(s) you used. There are prizes up for grabs for the best behind-the-scenes films!
Meet The Judges
Jess dela Merced
Jess dela Merced is an acclaimed writer and director from San Francisco. She has made a string of hugely successful short films including ‘HYPEBEASTS’, which she made under Spike Lee's mentorship, and ‘PHONY’, which was executive produced by Paul Feig and is now in development as a TV series.
Sunday Emerson Gullifer
Sunday Emerson Gullifer is an award-winning filmmaker from Sydney. Her work has screened at Telluride Film Festival, scored two Australian Directors’ Guild Award nominations, a Vimeo Staff Pick and a string of other industry accolades. In 2020, she was awarded a writing residency in Paris and development funding to write her debut feature film.
Ryan Connolly
Ryan Connolly is a filmmaker and internet personality best known for his educational YouTube channel Film Riot, which has gained over 1.8-million subscribers. He has also written and directed 16 short films, which have amassed over 10-million views. Currently, Ryan is working with 3Arts developing feature films.
