During his 55 years as a publisher, he has published literary giants and artwork of contemporary artists, with little concern for profitability.
Although he is semi-retired, his shop in Copenhagen is still active and a magical place to visit.
In this mini-documentary, Mr. Brøndum talks about a central theme of his recent memoirs; the value of being alone with oneself.

[with English subtitles] Legendary publisher Hans Jørgen Brøndum, has published hundreds of unique illustrated books during the past 55 years from his small shop in Nansensgade, Copenhagen.
Among books and fine art prints, you'll find handwritten notes from literary giants such as Samuel Becket, Henry Miller and others.
This short-film is a view "behind the scenes" of the mini-documentary "Retrospect" in which Mr. Brøndum talks about the last chapter of his latest memoirs "Freeewheeling".
