Shaping Sounds - My Rode Reel 2021
Lawrence Eagling
Shaping Sounds explores the endangered craft of coppersmithing with Michael, one of the last master craftsmen. Michael reveals the secrets of his workshop, including the surprising way that sound forms a key part of the coppersmiths' work. By listening to the metal, he uses sound to shape his work and keep an ear on his team, using methods that originated in the Bronze Age.
This film was shot at The Copper Works Newlyn, using sounds from the workshop to shape the music for this piece.
